Groovebug enables users to effortlessly connect with and follow their favorite bands, and discover new music along the way. It does this by scanning the user’s music library and creating a personalized rich media music magazine for the iPad. Music, videos, images, news from the blogosphere, and similar artists are compiled according to the user’s music taste. Whether the user loves trendy electro, classic rock, underground hip hop or even obscure bluegrass, Groovebug creates a personalized music magazine that speaks to the user.
MEET THE TEAM
Jeremiah Seraphine
CEO and Co-founder
Before attending Northwestern to pursue a MS in Integrated Marketing Communications with a concentration in Direct and Interactive Marketing, I moonlighted as a record label owner and event promoter, toured as a DJ and produced electronic music including a Billboard hit. Since I can remember, I’ve been starting new ventures. I champion a customer-centric, data driven approach to marketing and product development. Some of the artists in my Groovebug include Ceu, Roy Ayers, Jimi Hendrix, Derrick Carter, Bryan Ford, Dead Kennedys and Claude VonStroke.
Neal Ehardt
CTO and Co-founder
I specialize in user interface design and development. I got into UI coding early, making Flash games for my GeoCities page (remember those?). I went to Rice University part-time for a year to get more game dev experience before pursuing a degree in computer science at Northwestern. I also play the drums. Artists you’ll find in my Groovebug include Fat Tony, Foo Fighters, Massive Attack, Gorillaz, Afghan Raiders, Deftones, and Rick Ross.
Jere McAllister
Engineer
Music has always been a significant part of my life. At 19, I began producing, writing music, and deejaying. I’ve worked with Grammy-nominated artists, including Frankie Knuckles, Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley, and Eric ‘E-Smoove’ Miller, and have remixed songs for Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Marvin Gaye, INXS, and Diana Ross. I studied computer science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and I contribute to Groovebug as a back-end developer/engineer. While you’ll find a variety of artists in my Groovebug, my favorites are Marvin Gaye, Jamiroquai, Duke Ellington, Beethoven, and A Tribe Called Quest.
Brad Awodu

I began working at Groovebug while studying Computer Science at Northwestern University. Artists in my Groovebug include The Game, Nas, Jay-Z, Eminem, Mobb Deep, and Dre.
